How Music Transformed My Life

Music has been a true gift to me throughout my life, helping me find strength in difficult times and overcoming personal struggles.

When I was growing up, I was a timid little girl who had no idea how to come across as talkative, clever, or funny. It felt like everyone around me was so much more confident than I was, and I often got tongue-tied when trying to speak up in class or make friends. I quickly realised that there were always people who were louder, brighter and more outgoing than me.

But then, after some time, it became clear to me that listening to my favourite songs and singing along gave me a sense of confidence that I hadn’t felt before. In addition, through music education, I learned about the benefits of discipline. I took many steps toward growing up and becoming successful in the music industry, which has stayed present throughout my life.

As a grown woman, four months after having my daughter, I suffered from a near-death experience. I wasn’t able to talk, walk, or support myself. All I could think of was what would happen to my daughter if I didn’t recover. This was one of the darkest moments of my life, and I felt utterly hopeless.

Music Was the Light in My Darkest Period

I was trained in classical piano when I was a young girl. My family, who had continued to wait patiently by my bedside, remembered my love for music and played a series of classical pieces in an attempt to help me get better.

As the music played, I felt a surge of energy and strength that enabled me to move the middle finger of my right hand. For the first time in a long time, I could feel my body responding to something.

As more time passed, my recovery continued through music and very intense physical, speech, and mental therapy.

Looking back, I cannot help but be in awe of the transformative power of music and how it helped me overcome my obstacles and emerge stronger than ever before.

Today, music remains an integral part of my life, constantly inspiring me to be brave and resilient in overcoming personal struggles. As a classically trained musician, and vocal and performance coach, I have developed a solid dedication to helping people of all ages connect with their inner strength and power through music.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to see first-hand different ways music can change lives for the better.
